Segerstrom Center For The Arts engagement session photos:
Young lovers Nikki and Kyle actually met in high school, and after a couple of years of dating, they have decided to tie the knot next year. When I met them at my studio in Downtown Long Beach, I realized that they are at about the same age as I was when I first got into wedding photography! I was really excited to connect with them face-to-face, as Nikki was one of the first brides who booked me for 2014, and it was an absolute pleasure capturing these Segerstrom Center For The Arts engagement session photos.

They had decided on an urban, modern feel for their first e-session, set at the Segerstrom Center For The Arts in Costa Mesa. Both had opted to wear semi-formal attire, with Nikki in a plum-colored cocktail dress and Kyle in an open-collared blue shirt. I captured a range of shots, including up-close, intimate portraits, and wide-angle silhouettes, and incorporated the modern architecture and strong lines of the Segerstrom Center For The Arts in the photos.

Woodbridge engagement session photos:
We then headed over to the residential area of Woodbridge in Irvine to take advantage of the atmospheric sunset light. Both Nikki and Kyle changed into something more casual and we captured some playful shots of them relaxing in a suburban park, as well as some romantic shots of them taking in the sunset together. The slowly setting sun acted as a natural off-camera flash in illuminating a close-up kiss between them, while the magical changing colors in the sky created compelling silhouette shots.

Both Nikki and Kyle were really natural behind the camera throughout these Segerstrom Center For The Arts engagement session photos, with an engaging chemistry that was a real pleasure to shoot. Needless to say, I’m really looking forward to being their wedding photographer for their nuptials next year and wish them all the best in the coming months of planning.
