Photos from Andrea and John-Ray’s wedding at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, including a romantic first look session on a shaded golf cart trail. This was followed by their Catholic wedding ceremony overlooking the Pacific Ocean and a lively ballroom reception where they celebrated with family and friends.
I first met Andrea and John-Ray at the wedding of Vithya and Peter in La Joya last year when they were both part of the bridal party. I was honored that they considered me as their photographer for this wedding at Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes, based on the experience of their friends. They’ve been together since high school and currently live in Seattle, although they both love to travel whenever possible.
While John-Ray and his groomsmen were getting ready at Terranea Resort (where my second photographer headed), the girls were making their final preparations in the bridal suite at Trump National Golf Club, which is where I met up with Andrea.
Getting ready photos at Trump National Golf Club:
I captured some up-close shots as Andrea had the final touches applied to her makeup and shared in this special moment with her mom and sister. In addition to photos of the bride in her elegant white dressing gown, I also captured some shots once she was in her wedding dress on the bridal suite porch as her bridesmaids helped to “fluff” the train. Andrea’s very cute ring bearer then turned up in his mini suit and bow tie, so I also grabbed some photos of the girls reacting to this adorable sight.
Pre-ceremony portraits at Trump National Golf Club:
It was then time for the first look session, with John-Ray and his groomsmen making their way over to Trump National Golf Club from Terranea Resort. We found a shaded spot on one of the golf cart trails to capture the moment that Andrea walked up behind her groom and their reactions at seeing one another for the first time on their special day.
We used the time available for some portraits of the couple in this loved-up moment, with John-Ray twirling his bride and looking lovingly into her eyes. We also captured some playful bridal party portraits and some more shots of Andrea looking absolutely radiant outside her getting ready cottage.
The bride’s dad then arrived for the father-daughter first look and appeared undeniably proud at seeing Andrea looking so beautiful. I also grabbed a portrait of the bride with her parents in this special moment before it was time for the ceremony to get underway.
Ceremony photos at Trump National Golf Club:
Andrea and John-Ray’s wedding ceremony was being held on the grassy lawns of Trump National Golf Club, overlooking the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. The groom was escorted down the aisle by his parents before being followed by a slightly upset young flower girl who ran towards him.
Andrea then walked down the aisle between her mom and dad, with John-Ray looking on in admiration. The couple’s ceremony included numerous Catholic rituals and Filipino wedding traditions, including the lighting of a unity candle and being covered in a veil by their Godparents.
I tried to capture the ceremony from various angles, getting up high for some elevated views across this stunning Rancho Palos Verdes wedding venue and looking down the aisle. I also documented the couple’s reactions as they exchanged vows and rings, before being pronounced “husband and wife”.
Post-ceremony portraits at Trump National Golf Club:
After making their recessional walk down the aisle and being congratulated by family and friends, we took advantage of the gorgeous late-afternoon light for another portrait session. I photographed the couple embracing in front of their bridal arch and looking out across the golf course together, as well as grabbing a fun bridal party portrait as they kissed.
Reception photos at Trump National Golf Club:
The newlyweds kicked off their ballroom reception at Trump National Golf Club with a first dance, before sneaking outside for a few atmospheric portraits at dusk. Everyone then surrounded the couple on the dance floor to celebrate, accompanied by a live band, before being seated for speeches and toasts from their maid-of-honor and best man.
The father-daughter and mother-son dances followed before more open dancing, then a champagne toast during Andrea and John-Ray’s cake-cutting ceremony. I also captured some action shots of the bride’s bouquet toss and the groom’s playful garter removal before grabbing a final kiss between the couple in front of their white floral wall feature.

It was such a beautiful day with amazing weather for Andrea and John-Ray’s wedding at Trump National Golf Club and I can’t thank Vithya and Peter enough for making it possible. I wish Andrea and John-Ray all the happiness as they start their new chapter together in Seattle and hope they enjoy these memories of their special day.
